Africa Skills Week 2026 is underway at the Harare International Conference Centre, bringing together policymakers, training institutions, employers, development partners and young people from across the continent.
Skills for resilient and competitive industries
The African Union Commission and the Government of Zimbabwe officially opened the third edition of Africa Skills Week on 12 October. The programme runs until 16 October 2026 under the theme **Skills for Resilient and Competitive African Industries: From Training to Value Creation**.
The official programme focuses on technical and vocational education and training, youth employability, entrepreneurship, innovation, work-based learning and stronger links between education and productive industries.
Sessions are also expected to consider digital transformation, artificial intelligence, green skills, inclusion and the skills needed for priority African value chains.
Why it matters
The discussions are especially relevant to learners, artisans, educators, colleges, employers and entrepreneurs seeking practical ways to connect training with real work and enterprise development.
The official event website contains programme information and updates. Because the event is already underway, BHEKZIM PLUG does not guarantee that registration or in-person attendance remains available.
